  Compare with Dundas
Posted by elvis on Aug-05-2009 07:45
Hi all,

we are surveying charting tool recently. ChartDirector is easy to use, but lack toolbar like Dundas. And also, lack sample codes for AJAX usage, simplest sample of how JsChartView and WebChartView interact with each other, and how to use these two classes' methods. (ex: I don't understand when/how to use partialUpdate, streamUpdate. I need some simple sample codes for that, zoom in/out demo too complex to understand the interaction between JsChartView and WebChartView.)

I spent lot of time on trying this, http://www.chartdir.com/forum/download_thread.php?site=chartdir&bn=chartdir_support&thread=1249316922
, send HTTP POST request to a servlet and it responses IMG URL, then update the IMG URL with the responsed one.
It's a quite easy, but I still spent lot of time. Maybe ChartDirector can provide such samples in jspdemo.

Regards,
elvis.

Hi elvis,

Thanks a lot for your valuable feedback.

We also thought that there are not enough AJAX sample code in ChartDirector, and some of the existing sample code are too complex. We will add more AJAX sample code and more introductory AJAX examples in coming versions of ChartDirector.

Again, thanks a lot for your valuable feedback.
