The volume chart looks correct and accurate.
It is common for people to change the resolution of the entire chart. For example, if you go to Yahoo Finance, and plot for a 2-year chart, it is likely to use weekly data instead of daily data. For your chart, if you want to use weekly data, please pass weekly data to ChartDirector (instead of passing daily data to ChartDirector).
It is not useful to change the resolution of the volume bars only. The main purpose of the chart is for stock analysis. All stock analysis techniques require all data be of the same resolution. If you mix data of different resolutions on the same chart, the chart is not useful for people who actually know how to use the chart.
