charting averages around a center line |

Hi,
Great software, btw...
I have 2 types of displays I'm trying to achieve but not sure how to approach it...
1. Data and a moving averages band (kinda like your financial chart RSI band). Basically, I want to create a narrow 'band" like chart, that shows the data in reference to a center line. For example, lets say you have ROE % data for the last 10 years. So the x axis would be years and the data would oscillate around the reference center line. The first data point ie the earliest year would be y=0 on the line and the rest of the data would be relative to that, so if the ROE is greater the second year it would be above the line, and so on. i want to see this as a "line-curve" graph.
2. I want to combine several of the above 'band' charts in a row so i can see them relative to each other. Each band would have the same y scale. This i'm guessing is the easy part ie... just a multi-chart implementation.

Hi jbb43,
There is an example called "Inter-Line Coloring" including in ChartDirector Ver 5. One of the lines in that example is similar to what you need - a line that oscillates around a horizontal reference line, with different filling color depending on whether the line is above or below the reference line.
For combining several of the above 'band' charts in a row, you may just create multiple charts, and put them on top of each other. You may combine them using a MultiChart if you like.
Hope this can help.
