CD for use on an OMAP core |

We are about to start using Qt in a big way here as we move away from all things Visual Studio. The primary work is the done on an Intel 64b PC with Ubuntu, but we have a significant project using an OMAP processor (the popular Panda board) which in turn runs Ubuntu as well (surprisingly well in fact). The independence of your solution from any GUI, and the ability to move to Qt, was one of the core reasons we chose Qt in the first place, but our thinking was limited to x86 cores at that time.
The question has now come up of what effort would be required to get a Chart Director release cross complied to this machine so we could move our charting there. Please advise. |

Hi DC Kelley,
Unluckily, currently we do not have any plan for support ChartDirector for C++ on Linux with the OMAP processor. Our thinking is that although technically it should be possible (since ChartDirector does run on PowerPC processors on Mac OS X, and we have an edition that runs on ARM architecture processors on iOS), it would not be cost effective to provide on-going maintainence or support, as the demand would be small, and it would not fit our current business model (which is "low cost high volume").
The only edition of ChartDirector that may run on Linux on non x86 based processors would be ChartDirector for JSP/Java. This assumes the Linux machine have a standard Java VM.
