netchartdir.dll signed version |

Hello,
my company is in the process of applying for a Windows 7 logo for our program. One of the requirements are signed dll's and executables, or waivers that they cannot be obtained.
We have a license for the use of your program (currently using 5.0.2 dll's in our program), and after installing we see a signed-folder containing the dll.
The problem is that this dll is not recognized as signed by microsoft (windows 7/windows xp), because when I look at the properties of the file in windows an extra tab should appear named 'Digital Signatures'. Regretfully neither the ChartDirector 5.0.2 nor the 5.1 seem to contain a dll in the signed-folder that is recognized as signed.
Can you help me obtain a signed version of the dll or give me some form of communication that would help me obtain a waiver (an email detailing that you do not have a (microsoft recognized) signed version of the dll should suffice)?
Thank you very much in advance,
Sjoerd E |

Hi SjoerdE,
The "signed" DLLs in ChartDirector for .NET means the DLLs are signed with a strong name (see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/xc31ft41.aspx), so that the DLLs can be used in the Global Assembly Cache or linked with other strong-named signed executable.
I believe the Windows 7 logo may require another type of signature, which can be signed by anyone. We usually suggest developers to sign the ChartDirector DLLs themselves with their own certificates. I will also send you an email so that you can apply for a waiver from Microsoft.
