  Problem installing Chart Director

Hi -

I've been using the asp (com) version of chart director for years, and am now having a problem installing it on one of my client's server.  They are running Windows Server 2008, and IIS 6.0.  The version of Chart Director I've been using is the 4.1 version, which is what I have running for all other clients.  I'm including a screenprint of the results of running cdcheck5.asp, which shows problems initializing objects.

Is there some kind of log saved of the results of running the install?

If you could point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks -

Cathy

Hi Cathy,

Your Windows is 64-bit. ChartDirector 4.1 can only run in 32-bit mode. By default, on 64-bit Windows, the IIS run in 64-bit mode, so it is unable to use 32-bit COM components.

To solve the problem, you may:

(a) Use ChartDirector 5.x instead, which can run in both 32-bit and 64-bit mode.

or

(b) Configure the IIS to run in 32-bit mode, or create a 32-bit pool in the IIS and put the charting application in that pool. For details of this method, please refer to Microsoft documentation.

Hope this can help.
